Blake Shelton Has a Message for Luke Bryan, Who Makes a Surprise Appearance at Ole Red

You never know what will happen at the Nashville-based country music festival CMA Fest, and Luke Bryan showed up in an unexpected place as the weekend progressed.

The superstar made an unexpected appearance at the Spotify House performance, which took place at Ole Red, Blake Shelton's busy Lower Broadway bar. What's the most surprising aspect? Bryan was performing at another country superstar's bar when he could have just taken a few extra feet and performed at his own.
The concert was held directly across the street from Luke Bryan's 32 Bridge, a bar and live music venue that the singer founded in 2018. Despite the fact that he wasn't onstage during Bryan's set, Shelton took to Ole Red's Instagram stories to wish his fellow country musician a successful performance, and the irony of Bryan performing at Ole Red wasn't lost on him. Shelton, in fact, used the occasion to spark some friendly rivalry with his fellow vocalist.

"Well, that's good. Luke Bryan, Luke Bryan, Luke Bryan, Luke Bryan, Luke "In the video, he says. "You know, Luke, I'm delighted you made the right choice. I'm delighted you chose to perform at a professional music venue rather than at your home across the street."
All kidding aside, Shelton expressed his delight at the prospect of Bryan performing on the stage of his pub. "Buddy, welcome to Ole Red. Spotify, I adore you. Actually, Luke, I adore you. Have a great time on stage."

When Bryan took the stage, both he and the Ole Red crowd appeared to be having a good time: a video of his set shows him rocking out to a packed house during a performance of his hit "One Margarita."
